Florida bride-to-be goes viral for sharing text from her fiancé's father after marriage proposal

TikTok video, which reveals the text message, has garnered millions of views

A recently engaged woman from Florida is attracting attention on social media after she revealed the text message she received from the man who will become her father-in-law once she weds his son.

Mia Amabile, 27, a content creator based in Miami, is set to marry the love of her life, Alex Rudolph, so she's gaining a new family: her in-laws.

While there's a stereotype about tumultuous relationships with in-laws, that is apparently not the case for Amabile and the Rudolphs.

Amabile is so close with the family that after the proposal, her future father-in-law, Doug Rudolph, sent her a text message to express how he felt about the milestone event.

"My Dearest Mia, Now that it is official, I wanted to take a moment to directly and personally tell you how overjoyed we all are to have you become an official member of our family, and us of yours!" the text read.

"We have loved you from the moment we met you, and could always see that you and Alex were absolutely meant to be together forever!"

He went on, "The most important thing is that you guys clearly unconditionally love each other, and take care of each other, and that is by far the most important thing that ever matters!"

He concluded, "We are so greatly looking forward to all of the amazing times we will get to spend together. All our love forever, Doug."

Amabile and Alex Rudolph, a restaurateur and Miami native, have been together for over two years and during a special trip to St. Barts, he proposed.

However, the special moment became "perfectly imperfect," Amabile told Fox News Digital.

Amabile said she was left stunned when Alex Rudolph got down on one knee during an intimate lunch on the cliff near the hotel.

"He reaches into the little beach bag that we brought for the picnic … and he grabbed the cardboard box, which was holding the actual ring box, and it was empty," she recalled.

Amabile said her fiancé started to look pale before panicking and saying, "I don't have the freaking ring."

Alex Rudolph rushed back to the hotel room to exchange boxes and came back ready to propose all over again.

"He got down on a knee again and he goes, ‘Are you ready for your real moment?’ It's amazing. I got two proposals," Amabile said with a laugh.

The joy did not stop there for Amabile as she pulled out her phone to discover the heartwarming text from her future father-in-law, Doug Rudolph.

Amabile said what she loved most about the text was seeing the way Doug Rudolph perceived the relationship she had with his son.

"I think what was really sweet was him recognizing how beautiful [our] relationship is and that he was able to see that as well. Also, I love that he spoke about me joining his family as well as him joining mine," Amabile said.

Amabile could not help but praise and admire her future family, especially her future father-in-law, and it appears Doug Rudolph shares the same admiration for her.

"The very first time I met her, I could tell it was different from all his other relationships we've had. I could just tell this one was special … [I thought], ‘This could be the one,’" Doug Rudolph told Fox News Digital.

And the last thing he expected was that it would go viral.

"It was just from the heart and exactly how I felt, and I just wanted [her] to know how happy I was that she was coming into the family, and we were all going to be together, and I never thought about it again," Doug Rudolph said.

Amabile shared the text on her TikTok page, where it garnered some 3.7 million views and comments from women sharing their own stories — both joyous and sorrowful.

"Obviously it was a very sweet text, but once I posted it I didn't think that it would blow up like that," Amabile said.

"For every girl that [wishes] their father-in-law and mother-in-law felt this way about them," one user commented.

"My current bf's dad doesn't even acknowledge me … Oh how I dream for this kind of love one day," another woman wrote.

"A lot of women aren't even getting words like that from their partners … so I think that's a really big thing. And then, obviously, people really don't have great relationships with their in-laws. And I know that's a stereotype for many people, like having a tough mother-in-law, but I didn't know it was this extreme," Amabile said.

"It made us almost kind of sad because people don't have these relationships that we obviously took for granted because we think this is normal for us."
